This video clip was pulled from the geometry unit. Students were on day 5 of this unit where we reviewed transformations (rotation, reflection, translation, dilation) and applied them to different shapes. From there, students were engaged in an online program called Desmos. They were playing a Guess Who? styled game where they had to describe an image to their partner using academic language. The goal was to use precise language to reach a conclusion in the least amount of questions. The video shows me stopping the game so students can reflect on the questions they are asking. Students were using terms that made the most sense to them, but I wanted to show that this is a great time to practice using the precise language related to the math.
