Math Projects

During my time at HTHNC, I have had the pleasure of creating and leading different math projects. Here is a look at a few we have done so far!

01

Create Your Own Pattern

In 9th grade, students studied linear equations and graphs. In 10th grade, students built off previous knowledge and learned about quadratics. They focused on different representations of growth, leading them to create their own patterns to represent a quadratic function.

02

The Game of Probability

The board game industry is a dying industry in our new age of technology. My students have taken the initiative to revive the board game industry by creating their own board game. They then calculated different components of the game to check the probability of landing on different spaces, rolling numbers, etc.

Barbie Zipline

Barbie didn’t study right triangle trigonometry in 10th grade so she needs my students' help! A bear chased her up a high mountain and she is awaiting a rescue team to send her a zipline to send her down the mountain, away from the bear. It is up to you to build a zip line where Barbie can safely slide down the mountain.

Tiny Town

A city planner has reached out to your class to help them create concepts, design, and build a self sustaining town!
